Supper & sound journey: One Thousand Birds Symphony - Sat 27 Sep

Sat 27th Sep, 18:15 - 20:00

A few days after the equinox is a good time to reflect on the annual cycles of bird migrations.  So, nourish yourself with a light vege supper & freshly-pressed apple juice.  Then lie down & relax as we play the award-winning album by Exeter-based art rock artist GRICE.  The sound journey will be approx 1 hour of birdsong, vocals & electronic glitch.

‘one thousand birds symphony’ was created between March and December 2020 deep in ‘The Shire’, when the artist developed a personal connection with the robins, blackbirds and other passerines that surrounded him during isolation and lockdown. Throughout this period, the artist was driven to rise with the birds each morning to listen, record and archive their behaviour and songs.

This event emphasises the importance of the effect of nature on mental health and hopefully raises awareness of ‘The Red List’ of birds in danger of extinction.
