We thought about getting all creative and having fun with this page.  Then we thought "let's just get on with writing out this necessary but dull information and then move on to be more creative elsewhere".  So that's what we did.

Terms & conditions - courses

Ok, here goes the small print.  Well, not so small actually.  It’s the same font size as the rest of our website.  Fundamentally, Creative Beings CIC exists to help cultivate your creative practices.  We do this in a friendly, open and trusting way.  However, for clarity, we’ve been advised to state the following clauses.  By placing a course or event booking with us, you and your booking party agree to the following terms and conditions.  If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a booking.

Payment for courses and events must be made at the point of booking via our website's Stripe secure online payment process.  All major credit and debit cards are accepted.  A receipt will be sent to you by email from Stripe confirming payment.  Stripe will receive the information needed to verify and authorise your payment card and to process your order and is under strict legal and contractual obligations not to disclose this information to third parties.  Creative Beings CIC will not accept any liability for costs incurred as a result of non-payment of a course or event.

Creative Beings CIC is exempt from VAT.

Once you have paid and booked onto a course or event, you have up to 14 days from the purchase date to cancel your booking and receive a full refund.  If you need to cancel your place for a course or event, you must notify Creative Beings CIC via email more than 28 days before the course start date.  You will receive a full refund less an admin fee of 20% of the course fee.  If you cancel your place less than 28 days before the course start date, you will not be entitled to a refund, unless a replacement person can be found, in which case the 20% admin fee will apply.

If you need to substitute someone else in your place on a course or event, you must notify Creative Beings CIC via email.

If you can no longer attend the course or event, you are entitled to transfer your booking onto the next session that has availability.  The transfer option only applies when transferring to a different date for the same course.  The transfer is free of charge if you notify Creative Beings CIC via email more than 28 days before the course start date.

You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations and any other reasonable security requirements that apply at the premises at which Creative Beings CIC courses or events are provided.  But you’d do this anyway, right?

Creative Beings CIC does not accept responsibility for anyone acting as a result of information in, or views expressed on, its courses or events.  Opinions expressed are those of individual tutors and not necessarily those of Creative Beings CIC.

Where on-site parking is provided, guests accept that they park their vehicles at their own risk.

Ok, we can’t ever see this next clause being implemented but we’ve been advised to keep it here.  Creative Beings CIC reserves the right to remove any delegate from a course or event whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by Creative Beings CIC or its facilitators.  In these circumstances, Creative Beings CIC will neither refund any fees nor reimburse any other costs.

All intellectual property rights in all materials available from Creative Beings CIC, including the design, graphics and text of all printed materials, are owned by Creative Beings CIC.  No Creative Beings CIC content may be copied, reproduced, uploaded, posted, displayed or linked to in any way, in whole or in part, without prior permission from a Creative Beings CIC director.  Any such use is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of Creative Beings CIC’s intellectual property rights.

Where WiFi internet access is provided, guests accept to use this access to the internet fairly and appropriately.  We may monitor network performance and user usage in order to maintain a fair and high level of service to all our guests.  The internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, light video / music / media streaming.  It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads / uploads.  Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is not prohibited and will be reported to appropriate authorities.

Any lost property left behind by guests during a stay, if discovered and found, will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belongings before checking-out.  We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.

Smoking or vaping of any products including, but not limited to cigarettes, pipes, cigars, snuff or chewing tobacco, or the use of illegal drugs, is not allowed in any building at our property or in the garden.

We are required to keep a register of guests over the age of 16 who stay with us, this includes full names and nationality, and/or passport numbers, place of issue, details of next destination if they are non-British, Irish or Commonwealth guests.  This is in accordance with the (Immigration (Hotel records) Order 1972).  These records are kept for a minimum of 12 months and in accordance with the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation 2018).

We reserve the right to cancel any booking without compensation, refund or reimbursement if the terms of these conditions are breached.
