Experimenting with clay with a family of 4
We had fun in the studio, working with a life model and 4 newbie sculptors for a relaxed half-term workshop. Initially we studied the head, to get the proportions about right, and to notice where things really go (e.g. ears) compared to where we think they go! Then we let our patient model go and abstracted the sculptures. Finally they were hollowed out so that they could dry evenly before firing.
"It was a lovely way to spend a couple of days in your beautiful studio. Can we come again please!?"
