This workshop will be focused, creative and intensive. We’ll go for a dynamic pose, working directly from the life model, so students gain a good working understanding of the human form. We will learn about proportions, using comparative measurement, basic anatomy, rhythms and dynamics of the human figure. On the first day, we’ll sketch in charcoaland clay then move to a 3 day pose. We aim to have serious fun, to work hard and to extend our perceptions of the human form, learning to really look at what ‘is’ rather than what we 'think' it is.
The workshop is suitable for all but experience of life drawing or observational studies of the human figure, in any material, would be an advantage. You will be tutored individually; everyone works at their own pace. You’ll work in clay on an armature. If you wish to preserve your finished work, you will need to get it cast in resin or bronze at your own cost. We can advise.
