Creative mark-making with Jane Woods
Come and join for a day of play, making beautiful images with this magical and early photographic art form.
The Cyanotype is an economical photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print, literally a ‘blueprint’. These were created by John Herschel to record his scientific findings in 1842.
We’ll work from a light and airy studio with lovely views of nature. We’ll start with a gentle botany walk, to collect materials and sketch. Then we’ll return to make paper cut-outs and prepare our cyanotypes. We can print on paper, gift cards, fabric tote bags and khadi (cotton rag) paper.
Please bring a sketchbook, a canvas bag to collect materials in, something to write / draw with and a pair of walking boots (to be on the safe side).
